Volunteer Roles

Event

Help with logistics, food, materials, banners, etc.
Manage audiovisuals, microphones
Assist with registration
Help set up and clean up for event
Greet and escort guests (for Learning Hubs, SCE employees only)

Time commitment: 4-5 hours
Timeframe: 1 day

Fundraising

Work with mentors/follow up with targets
Outreach to different corporations for sponsorships
Follow-up with potential donors on sponsorships, tickets, ads
Update target list and collect contact info

Time commitment: 2-3 hrs/wk
Timeframe: 3-6 months

Marketing

Create Facebook, LinkedIn posts
Develop and disseminate press releases
Market to different channels (corporations, media, past donors, new donors, nonprofits, etc)
Identify cross-promotion opportunities

Time commitment: 2-3 hrs/wk
Timeframe: 3-6 months

Program Book

Develop ~20 page program book for end-of-year graduation gala
Write and edit content.
Reach out for advertisements, logos, testimonials, bios, etc.
Work with designer on layout and content.

Time commitment: 2-3 hrs/wk
Timeframe: 3 months

Internship Roles:

Website

Manage and update the AAPA website on a regular basis. This may include updating the membership portal, upcoming events, bios and images, on-page content, etc.
In addition to reviewing AAPA’s user guide, research literature on and techniques for website maintenance and enhancement effective to AAPA’s operation.
Maintain an “editorial calendar” for the site to expand content that is valuable and useful for AAPA members.
Compose a blog post (or posts) once per month, and/or make sure other volunteers provide content for the website in a timely fashion.
Pull data reports and analyze user insights using Analytics and UsersInsights database.

Est. time commitment: 2-3 hrs/wk
Timeframe: 4-6 months, option to extend commitment to full year
