Yiu Man So is a Senior Principle Engineer/Project Chief Engineer at Raytheon Company. Over the course of his work, he has co-authored several journal articles and conference papers on Photonic oscillators and holds two U.S. patents. Mr. So has demonstrated a passion in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic) for the younger generation. Recently he developed a STEM workshop, titled “Bring your child to the workshop and you may go home with a scientist”. He is actively involved within the community and over the past ten years, has served as Chair of CESASC Scholarship Committee 2007-2009, Chair of National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) Scholarship Committee 2008, President of CESASC in 2009-2010, Chair of CESASC Student Essay Competition Project since 2013. In 2016, the competition began it expansion to international student. He mentors students during the FIRST Robotic competition, Judge for the California State Science Fair, and Grand Judge for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). He received Six-Sigma award from Raytheon Company, He has delivered motivational speeches at high schools, universities, and Asian American events. Recently, he delivered a keynote speech to the Aerospace Cooperation, titled “Diverse Leadership + Expanding Opportunity: An Imperative for America” and another speech to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), titled “The Rhythm on Freedom.”
